Luke Solomon
is somehow a synonym for UK House. In 1995 he founded fundamental label Classic together with house legend Derrick Carter. Together with Justin Harris as «The Freaks» he creates downright techno and runs another label, Music For Freaks. And if that wasn’t enough Solomon records under his own name for different labels such as Rekids.
That record always make me feel young again. It reminds me of the cassette I had, my most prized possesion.
Future music.
Thats usually with the kids. And my oldest son’s favourite record is the Batman soundtrack by Prince, and the song «Batman». Keep Bustin’!
The perfect holiday song.
I don’t do that, it doesn’t happen when you have kids. If I did though it would be «Sweet Thing».
It’s generally something new that I have heard and has inspired me to go out. At the moment that would be «Dedication».
I never realised they ripped the record off Jake Holmes. The original version is amazing too.
The The always give me a feeling of importance. I think it’s probably their lyrics, so I would say «Good Morning Beautiful».
That record astounds me everytime. The production is unreal. It restored my faith in metal. Sounds great quiet, sounds incredible loud.
It’s my favourite time to listen to music, but this just conjurs up driving fast on a motorway at night, so thats what I do.

Billy’s voice always makes me think of sad but happy things.

My Dad got me into bands like Bread, The Carpenters, Carole King, basically hippy stuff. So I would say Bread’s «The Guitar Man». It reminds me of him.
Just a great travelling record. It always makes me feel warm inside, and reminds me of home.
I just love Siouxsie’s voice and «Mad Eyed Screamer» is just the best short song ever.
I think the «Lets Go To Bed» video makes me associate any Cure record with beds. So it would have to be six different ways. I love love love that record, the strings get me every time.
Such an English record, and English subways remind me of my youth.
I dont know why, it’s a great waking up to album. It always amazes me how much more full on it is than how you remember it to be.
