Sóley
Sóley Stefánsdóttir is a singer and pianist from Hafnarfjörður on the south-west coast of Iceland. She's a member of the indie-folk band Seabear and released her first solo-album «We Sink» 2011. Her vocals have been described as «timid in the way of Beth Gibbons», her sound is dreamy with a gentle piano and spartan beats. The stories she tells are as mystical as you will expect from this island where everybody can see fairys.
The album «We Sink» was released September 2011 on Morr Music.
I remember those days covering this song with my friend when we were 15 years old. I played piano and sang the backing vocals because I was so shy to sing then. Things have changed!
When I was a teenager I danced and sang in front of the mirror in my room to this song so many times.
Ahh too many... But I´d love to go to concerts with: Keith Jarrett (piano player, my favourite) & Leonard Cohen (solo concert only with guitar and voice, ohh) & Fleetwood Mac.

It´s a good sunday crying song. It´s so «touchy» that always when I listen to it I get tears in my eyes.
For at least one year I listened to this album at least twice a day from the beginning till the end. I spent a lot of time listening to this album instead practicing piano.

Ohh, it´s so beautiful.
Hafnarfjörður is like the coolest place on earth (no joke). It´s in the big capital area but has a long history as a town. I grew up there and now I work there and while I´m writing this I sit in a nice café in Hafnarfjörður. So we have this great song called «Vinur Hafnarfjarðar» which means «Friend of Hafnarfjörður» and I think that song says enough about the town. I don´t know if you find it on Youtube and I´m not sure who wrote it but everyone from Hafnarfjörður knows it.

An Icelandic Funk band. After I came home with this album I didn´t feel satisfied so I went back to the record shop and bought «Ágætis Byrjun» by Sigur Rós. I had never listened to them so I was shocked when I listened to the album for the first time.
The Jazz flute scene from the film «Anchorman» starring Will Ferrell. Haha.
Because it´s one of my favourite songs in the world.
