Joan As Police Woman
aka Joan Wasser took a long time coming before releasing her solo album. She was in bands like The Dambuilders, Black Beetle and Those Bastard Souls. When her boyfriend Jeff Buckley tragically drowned she found cure in playing violin in Antony & The Johnsons and working with Lou Reed, Nick Cave, Sheryl Crow, Sparklehorse and Dave Gahan. Since 2006 the New York based musician has released four albums so far.

Off the LP «All By Hisself (Live At The Lonestar)». Listening to Dr. John play and sing and just exist makes me want to cut that internet surfing short and play music myself. It's never better than with that kind of energy, that kind of expertise and comfort, it ruins any attempt at staring at a screen.
