were heralded as the future of British art pop when their debut «Beat Pyramid» landed in 2008. The black-and-gold-uniformed quartet from Sinewy operates at the interface of Gang Of Four contorto-punk and post-punk electronic pop.

It depends on the woman. Before the dinner maybe some Björk from «Vespertine». I think I would actually never do this, prepare a romantic meal. I would take someone somewhere outside. I don’t really cook and I’m really bad at it. After the dinner maybe «Venus As A Boy» by Björk or «Cherish The Day» by Sade.

Once I stayed at this place in Milan, me and some mates rented a flat in a building where a lot of older people were living. We had loud music on and there was a knock on the door which we ignored. Eventually the police arrived. They thought we had some prostitutes in there and kind of an orgy going on. Which wasn’t true at all. But they kicked in the door, stormed in and smashed the radio. It was crazy, but at the end they let us off without a fine.
It’s part of the soundtrack for «Lost Highway» by David Lynch and was originally on the album «Outside». That album was badly viewed by the press but it’s actually fantastic.

Oh, I am right now. I’m quite heartbroken. That’s why I’m listening to Sade or «Fast Love» by George Michael. But times are already getting better again.
I usually don’t listen to music on this occasion. Being a drummer and bass-player, I start to make love in the rhythm of the music which is really bad. I puts me off, I can’t do that. It doesn’t have to be silence but maybe some ambient music, something without rhythms so it’s not distracting me. Okay, sometimes it can be good to get distracted, so it lasts longer. Maybe some Dolly Parton? No, I’m just joking, I would never do that.
My mum used to be a really good friend of theirs. If she had her way they would have become a glam-band with fancy seventies-clothing, she was also a big Roxy-Music-fan. Me and my twin-brother got a birth-card from Dr. Feelgood, I think Jack must have it somewhere. My dad was into dub and Steel Pulse. He stopped that when we arrived but before he was basically the only white face at Brixton-dub-raves. My parents met at a David-Bowie-concert, by the way.
As soon as I’m in a plane I put on some music and fall asleep within five minutes.
I live by the Thames in an area where Benjamin Britten was once a resident. So his music would be a good soundtrack.
Lately, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack of «The Fifth Element» by Eric Serra. He has done a lot of crap things but this one is really futuristic with train-noises. Me and my brother would love to do soundtracks. On our album are a lot of foley-techniques. We simulated the sound of a skull breaking. For this we used a watermelon covered with cream-bisquits, crackers, and hit it with a hammer.
How would I dump her? Probably by accident. I think I would be really nice, I wouldn’t wish bad things against anybody I like. It’s really hard to fall out of love with someone.
Maybe some Michael Nyman. Or «Peace In Mind» by Neneh Cherry, it brings positivity.
