is a Swedish pop singer and musician. starting out in the punk band Candysuck she only rose to fame when she went solo in 2002. She won two Swedish Grammys in 2006 and now lives in New York.
I must say that I think the Beatles are highly overrated. But okay, «A Day In The Life».
best concert you ever attended
Sheila Jordan
In New York, 2005. Perfect oneness. I laughed and cried for 2 hours straight.
your boozed up anthem
Betty Harris - There's A Break In The Road
Dancing guaranteed.
a song guaranteed to make you feel depressed
Any thing with any rock journalist boy band like Fleet Foxes or similar (whatever group overhyped bearded men that’s the flavor of the moment).
a record you fell in love to
Kathryn Williams - Little Black Numbers
first record you remember
Alphaville - Forever Young
I sat in front of the TV and recorded it onto my tape recorder with the TV speakers as the only source of sound. You can hear my sister yelling in the background. Later on I got the album for Christmas.
the song to be played at your funeral
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - Don't Leave Me This Way
perfect anthem for Gotheburg
Håkan Hellström - Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg
I wish someone had managed to write the equivalent of Håkan Hellström’s «Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg», the ultimate Gothenburg song. But it has yet to happen. I think it has to do with the fact that almost every musician you’ve ever heard from Stockholm is born somewhere else. So our feelings for the city are all too ambivalent.
a song that evokes the greatest summer of your life
Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Summer of 88. I put my long distance running shoes to rest and discovered life.
your ultimate heartbreak song
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
your party anthem
Bounce Camp - Big Dancin
There’s no escaping it. It’s the best trick up my sleave when DJing.
first record you bought
Alphaville - Forever Young
a song that reminds your friends of you
Cat Powers - Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again
Because I play it at least 10 times a night every time I DJ.
your sunday morning song
Jean Sibelius - The Tempest Suite
Depends on the season. But since autumn is coming up soon: «The Tempest Suite».
a song you wish you'd written yourself
Glen Campbell - Witchita Lineman
Written by Jimmy Webb. Perfection.
What is your favorite city
Stockholm
I moved from Stockholm to New York a year and a half ago because I felt the city never changed. I led the same kind of life that I had the last 12 years. Maybe we went to new places but the people still felt the same to me.
Now, that I don’t actually live there anymore, I somehow manage to see new sides to it every time I visit, and go into adventures all the time. So my conclusion is that you should limit your intake of Stockholm. But as long as you keep your dose low you’ll be fine and it can be very romantic as long as you have your everyday life some place else.
favorite band hailing from the city?
Mapei
Although she is a solo artist.

Centralbadet. Great Art Nouveau.

«Spymlan»
best day of the week in the city?
When I still had a regular job it was of course the Fridays. Now it’s all a blur.

Chinese food at «Ho’s», locally grown organic stuff at «Street», or a luxurious meal at «Teatergrillen» (if someone else is picking up the bill).
where was your first flat?
A basement that I shared with my best friends. One big open space and one small separate room (more like a closet) aptly namned the F •••-room.
which is the best job one can have in the city?
Maybe a gardener at Bergianska trädgården. Or the person who runs the Butterfly house in Hagaparken. Amazing place.
where do you kiss the last time (or where would you like to)?
The central station.
best movie that takes place in the city?
«G» by Staffan Hildebrand. It’s from 1983 and it’s about these three friends, who have just left the compulsory school, and now they consider themselves grown-up and mature, being 16 years old. During the summer holiday they also get a bit of experience of the world: Robban becomes a full-time drug addict, Alexander plays in a rock band but leaves it and Kim is desperate to get the girl of his dreams.
which person from the city you like the most?
No one I know is from there. But Åsa Jacobsson, my piano player, is one of the best persons who lives there now. Historically, Sigrid Hjerten the painter did some great art and seemed like a very interesting charachter.

«Ho’s». Asian cuisine at Hornsgatan 151.
favorite place to shag?
That’s for me to know etcetera.
which song fits the city the best?
Don’t know. I guess I lived there for too long!

I don’t like sports. Only horse jumping and figure skating and Stockholm don’t have their own teams for that.
favorite street?
Drottninggatan, but only the part north of Kungsgatan.
favorite street corner?
Tegnergatan/Drottninggatan
