is most recognized for being lead singer for the trip hop group Sneaker Pimps. Under the name Kelli Ali, she moved on to a solo career in 2003, moving from trip hop to a more dreampop sound. Her latest release has a more acoustic tone then her previous efforts.
This is such a great album with lots of pulsing synths and amazing guitars to keep your eyes open!

The Velvet Underground - Venus In Furs
Max Richter - Iconography
I really adore music that makes me feel elevated and surrounded by eloquence and luxury.
you relax on a beach?
Air - Cherry Blossom Girl
Tim Buckley - Strange Feeling
Though, when I’m near the ocean, the sound of the waves is usually the best music.

Elliott Smith - Angeles
This song is so eerie and magical and I have listened to it many times in the desert. He was such a creative wonderful artist. That song at sunset in the desert is sublime.
you go to a club?
Roxy Music - Angel Eyes
Love that song. It’s so glamorous. I don’t go to clubs so much. I prefer more intimate environments, but if I were to have my own club, I would play that song and it would be a bit like the Sky Bar in L.A. Very laid back and more like a bar.
you cook?
Goldfrapp - Utopia
«Felt Mountain» is such a great album for dinner parties and sipping red wine whilst you cook on a summer evening.
you run from the cops?
The Stooges - Search And Destroy
you are in a depressive mood?
Eagles Of Death Metal - San Berdoo Sunburn
Nico - Janitor Of Lunacy
San Berdoo Sunburn is so silly and full of funny pictures that it cheers me up. If I want to wallow in darkness then «Janitor Of Lunacy» does the trick.
you destroy a hotel room?
Pixies - Velouria
I don’t do that (anymore!). But I guess «Velouria» would be a suitably grand soundtrack to such a destructive scene.
you want to disturb your neighbours?
Greg Weeks - The Hive
It has all these low organs and eerie tones which rattles the glasses when turned up to the right volume. However, I don’t like to annoy people with music if I can help it.

The Stooges - Dirt

Ennio Morricone
I like to listen to Ennio Morricone’s romantic songs when I fly. He is one of my favorite composers and his music is very soothing. I also love to listen to Sufjan Stevens when I travel. I love his Illinois album, it seems to change every time I hear it.
Sufjan Stevens - Come On! Feel The Illinoise!
you read a book?
Suicide - Ghost Rider
I find Stephen King a very comforting writer. I am hardly ever scared when I read his stories. They can kind of chill you but they do so with a smile. Suicide’s «Ghost Rider» would be quite a fitting accompaniment to «The Dark Tower» one of Stephen King’s greatest series of works in my humble opinion.
you have to spend a night in a spooky hotel?
Goblin - Suspiria
It’s the perfectly spooky soundtrack to the Dario Argento film, which I love. I’m a great fan of horror in all its manifestations, film, music and literature. «Suspiria» has to be one of the most haunting soundtracks ever.
you are stoned?
The Velvet Underground - Venus In Furs
That’s a pretty deep piece of music. It has so many layers and plateaus. I don’t get stoned anymore though. There’s a lot to be said for sobriety. So much beauty to being in the moment.
you sit in the subway?
Marissa Nadler - Diamond Heart
It takes me far away from the dreary old tube. I also like to listen to Greg Weeks’ version of «Borderline» by Madonna. That song really has a great humor that I think suits the perverse atmosphere of oppression integral to London tube travel.

This is so beautiful and rolls along with the scenery wherever you are.

A great album to walk to, very emotional but ever changing like it’s very own scenery.

Vashti Bunyan - Just Another Diamond Day
I don’t have a garden. But if I did I’m sure that I would sing to the flowers and make up songs. However, for our purposes I would say «Just Another Diamond Day». Yes, a very good song for any garden.
