started out as background singer for her cousin Teena Marie. When she met Prince in 1980 at the age of 18 he took her under his wings and she became a member of the legendary Minneapolis gang. In 1987 she released her debut album on Paisley Park. Since then she recorded numerous albums under her own name.
Reminds me of Amsterdam. And also «The Eraser» by Thom Yorke. This one is really wild . NOT recorded in 1986, but it reminds me of a song that someone had written for me once and it had a similar piano and rhythmic quality. We never recorded the song and I don’t even recall it’s name, but when I heard this it brought back a flood of memories for me. Like being handed the cassette. (Yes cassettes people!!!) Well. Even though I sense something familiar, I think this song is wonderful. I love it.

Bat For Lashes - Horse And I
It’s hard to explain. I love this song. It is empowering and vulnerable at the same time. Sometimes you have to realize your own heart, mind and spirit and trust. Funny there is an exhibit here in NY at the American Natural History Museum right now called «The Horse». It explains how in Ice Age Europe humans were predators and horses prey. The exhibit goes forth through out time and the contributions made by the horse to our civilization.
