The Battle Of Land And Sea
was meant to be the name of Sarah 0’Shura’s ex-boyfriend’s band. But when the Californian singer met Joshua Canny and wanted to form her own outfit she used it for herself. The psychedelic folk duo from Portland is still the undisputed insider tip of lo-fi.
The football team use to come out to this song at pep rallies. Go Spartans!
The «OK Computer» tour in San Francisco. Spiritualized was supporting. I was extremely stoned and making my way through the crowd during one of their songs, I felt i got lost in time inside a circus, it was crazy. Then during Radiohead's set I held hands with a complete stranger, we never introduced ourselves.
This is my house cleaning song I start with and I don't do housework without a proper cocktail! It's usually a dirty martini or beer in the afternoon.
I'm usually bummed out by the end of the song. I've shed tears in a fit of self pity at some point I'm sure.
My boyfriend told me he loved me for the first time while «A Case Of You» was on. He had written it on a papercup, it was quite romantic while driving down the freeway...

I listened to only this record for one year straight, in that year was the most life changing summer for me. The best summer is still to come I'll always believe.
It's good to have a healthy dose of an empowering bitter sentiment in a heartbreak song. Tom and Stevie have such a magic between them in this song. Can't get much better. It was the first tune they did together, their best.
I need to get this on vinyl. Good times are to be had dancing in my living room to this record, with or without friends.
I love this whole record. I think, more people should get this record. I just received a special vinyl edition recently that made my year so far.
This was my first vinyl record. I was in the third grade. I only later found out that this actually the first album ever released on CD.
I've played this for some friends. I just love this tune. Once I put it on, it’s on repeat for about two hours.
Such a beautifully honest song. It’s about his affair with Janis Joplin. He once said about it: «She wouldn't mind, but my mother would be appalled.»
