moved from London to Los Angeles in 1991. There Simon James met Dan Hastie and they together started seval different projects somewhere between dirty disco and throttled house. First working together as Projections and releasing an album on Guidance, they have since released records on Rong, Permanent Vacation and even DFA as variously Projections, Woolfy and even Woolfy vs Projections.
The class before me had it as their Prom Song. I was always jealous of that. I think my class got «Unchained Melody» by The Righteous Brothers.

Impossible to answer, wait, no, it’s impossible...

your boozed up anthem
Chicago - I'm A Man
«Well my pad is very messy, got whiskers on my chin. Never had no problems cause Ive always paid the rent, I got no time for lovin, Cause my time is all used up. I stand outside creatin, All the groovy kinds of love. I’m a man, yes I am and I can’t help but love you so...»
a song guaranteed to make you feel depressed
Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again
Other than the fact that it’s no good, it makes me sad that she was reaching out to us, «I'm not that innocent...» We could’ve helped her, we should’ve been there for her.
a record you fell in love to
Astrud Gilberto - The Girl From Ipanema
Dennis Edwards - Don't Look Any Further
«Girl From Ipanema»: just one of those magic moments. Oh, and then there's also Dennis Edwards’ «Don't Look Any Further». But that's when I fell in love with Dennis Edwards.

Faze-O - Riding High
Oh what a summer that was... The summer of '94. I lost my mind in Europe somewhere, and when I found it, I was a much better person. I highly recommend losing your mind.
your ultimate heartbreak song
The Smiths - Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want
I sang this at my 16th birthday. Yeeaah, that's great! Singing Morrissey on your 16th birthday, how incredilbly uplifting. I don't even remember why I was heartbroken. Probably the fact that I was 16.
perfect anthem for London
Underworld - Born Slippy
Dunno, just seems to fit.
perfect anthem for Los Angeles
War - L.A. Sunshine
You'll have to take the time to come see for yourself. «LA, is my hometown, it's a funky town...» Our disco scene is small, but lots of cool heads. If you’re in town, and you’re looking for a good time, look us up!

Can't mess with Prince. Just ask Charlie Murphy.

best soundtrack ever
Any porn soundtrack from the 70's. What happened to the good music? And the good porn for that matter?
your sunday morning song
Woolfy - A Pint A Day
Well, since Sunday mornings are usually Saturday evenings, I'll have to say: "A Pint A Day". It's an edit I made of the Wings' «Band On The Run».
best video clip you ever saw
«Flea Market Montgomery - Long Version» on Youtube. «It's just like, it's just like, a mini mall...» Now, that's hiphop!
a song you wish you'd written yourself
The Police - Every Breath You Take
I was watching a show that revealed how much Sting's royalty checks are.
