Bodies Of Water
consists of married couple David and Meredith Metcalf from Los Angeles who add for recordings and concerts a revolving roster of friends. After two albums on Secretly Canadian the couple produced «Twist Again» in their home studio and released it on their own label Thousand Tongues. It interweaves roots-rock, spaghetti western, gospel and sixties harmonies to a splendid blend of pop.
At an annual barbeque for the WB brand assurance department (I worked there as a clerk years ago), one of my co-workers sang «You've Got A Friend» as we all gathered around in the backyard. He was so nervous that I was a little afraid that he would seize up and collapse, but he managed to channel that energy into the most compelling performance I have ever witnessed. It was thrilling!

I can't decide which summer is my favorite, but I will choose Gregory Isaac's «Special Guest».
