are Brian and Bob Sumner, who are bridging the gap between past and present. The siblings put their own spin on the sounds that influences their country-folkrock. Replacing acoustic with electric guitar and shots of well placed energy keeps their music moving. Everything that country was and will be.
Phil is a friend of ours and one of the best singer-songwriters around. His music is comforting. Sad but comforting.
you take a bubble bath?
Johann Sebastian Bach - Cello Suites
I’ve never had a bubble bath. Not one that I can remember anyways. There was a time a couple years back when my neck was all messed up. I use to take a regular bath, have a beer and listen to Bach’s «Cello Suites».
you prepare a candle light dinner?
Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald - A Fine Romance
Never got into that one either – probably «A Fine Romance».
you go to a club?
Lily Allen
M.I.A.
I can’t remember the last time I was in a club to be honest. But if they’re playing any of the Britpop stuff I don’t mind hearing that.
you run naked through a cornfield?
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile
I’m assuming I’m on Acid or something. Maybe it’s different in Switzerland. How about «Voodoo Chile».

Johann Sebastian Bach - Brandenburg Concertos
you destroy a hotel room?
Dead Kennedys - Your Emotions

For He's A Jolly Good Fellow

Radiohead - The Bends
Never really got into that – but if I had put some thought into it maybe it would be something of «The Bends».
you play ping-pong?
James Brown - The Payback
I’m the best pingpong player I know. So I’d let my opponent make the choice . Maybe it would inspire him or her, even the playing field a bit. If they insisted that I had to chose, it would be «The Payback».

Dead Kennedys - Your Emotions
I’m usually staring out the window watching the wing and praying for my life. Last time I was on a plane I was listening to «Your Emotions».
you have to spend a night in a spooky hotel?
Tom Waits - Alice
you stay in bed?
Willie Nelson - Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain
If I’m staying in bed I’m probably hung over. Preferably nothing. If I had to pick a song, then something without any bass in it. And it’s got to be at the right volume. If it’s too quite you’ll strain to try and hear it, if it’s too loud it will make your head pound. «Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain» could work.
you sit in the subway?
We don’t have subways in Vancouver.
you wake up?
I’m lucky enough that my girlfriend wakes up before me. So she wakes me up. As long as she wakes up on the right side of the bed it can be quite pleasant.
